Burning of classrooms

Letters

MY thoughts are with the principal, teachers, school board of management, parents and most importantly the affected Grade three students at Walium Primary School for the burning down of their two double classrooms on Sunday night.
It was a sad Monday morning as I watched our children being dismissed from classes due to this terrible incident.
The cause of this terrible disaster must be clearly verified and established via a thorough investigation process facilitated by our rural police with assistance from our community leaders and district administration.
Our innocent school children should not be victimised unnecessarily due to unfortunate incidents and mishaps such as this because their education is paramount and must be given the highest possible care and respect.
In the meantime alternative shelters must be constructed as temporary classrooms to continue classes.
