OWNERS of the tulait tulait buses ferrying betel nuts from the coast into the Highlands region have paid tribute to Peter Waieng by donating K100 each to his haus krai.

About 20 PMV buses, loaded with betel nuts, travelled from Wara-Simbu to Waieng’s Bonguglingu village.

One of the bus drivers said they were concerned about how the former MP lost his life.

The driver, from Tambul-Nibilyer, Western Highlands, supported the call for a speedy investigation and prosecution of the killers.

Chimbu provincial police commander Supt Augustine Wampe has maintained his call for people to respect the law during the mourning period.
