Business course gives students new tools

Business

Twenty-three people can now start businesses after undergoing a one-week training course at the Human Development Institute in Port Moresby last week.
They were awarded certificates on the final day on Friday. The training programme, called The art of preparation, was conducted by Samuel Tam who is known by many as Papa Sam.
Tam said that Many Papua New Guineans didn’t understand what a business was.
The participants learnt to write a business plan.
They were challenged to come up with a business plan within eight weeks and use the knowledge they had acquired.
Every participant shared their testimony at the end of the course.
More than half of the participants have existing businesses.
They said the knowledge they acquired would help them improve and expand their businesses.
