THE East New Britain government is in the process of developing a comprehensive food security policy for the province, says deputy Governor Cosmas Bau.
He said East New Britain was the first province in the country to work on creating a provincial food security policy.
Bau said under this policy, they would strengthen and invest in developing arable land into food bowls for the province.
“The food security policy for ENB entails the strengthening of land use,” he said.
“This is for all resource projects in the province and the creation of food bowls for the province.”
Bau said food bowls would be established at Lassul-Baining, Baining and North Pomio.
