NATIONAL Pandemic Response (NCC) deputy controller Dr Esorom Daoni says many private sectors have been generous in their support to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic. “It is a long and tedious fight and we urge many others to chip in with whatever help they can extend,” he said, adding that buisnesses should deliver the corporate social responsibility when most needed.
Dr Daoni said this during the presentation of K100,000 worth of personal protective equipment by British American Tobacco (BAT) to NCC. It was BAT’s second donation of equipment to the NCC.
BAT head of external affairs George Panao said: “We re just doing our part as a responsible corporate citizen. “As an individual, we ensure health protocols are adhered to in their work place.”
BAT regional manager Christine Lamur said said the equipment, included face masks, hand sanitisers, gowns and gloves for NCC staff. “PPE are something we have been living with in the last 16 months and support for the NCC must not fade,” she said.
