BUSINESSES especially retailers are hoping to make better sales during the festive season.
City Pharmacy Ltd Group founder and director Sir Mahesh Patel said while businesses had suffered because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the festive season should generate good sales.
“Businesswise, it is slow,” Sir Mahesh said.

“But it is coming to the busiest time of the year and we are hoping the Christmas will be big.
“It is going to be very big for us.
“We are in full swing with our plans to ensure stock is available, casual staff for continued customer service during the busy period, and our marketing plans in place, we are hoping and expecting a bumper Xmas.”

“Our Christmas programme is a huge competition this year and hundreds of thousands of Kina in prizes are on offer in every Homecentre.

“For every spending over K100 at any of our eight locations around PNG, you receive a scratch and win card.

Brian Bell staff at Gordon Homecentre Beth Haroavilla said she had been wrapping Christmas gifts for the past three weeks.
“Customers are beginning to buy Christmas gifts early,” Haroavilla said.
Retailer Fair Price of Tohouwa PNG Ltd in Port Moresby is also running its Christmas promotions.
Senior sales executive George Erepan said customers had been gradually coming in.
