Businessman: Learning about budgeting and savings vital

A BUSINESSMAN says more people should undergo financial literacy trainings to learn about budgeting and savings.
Paul Jacob was speaking during the graduation of 16 people from Western Highlands and Jiwaka who completed a Bank of PNG Microfinance Expansion Project training in Mt Hagen, supported by the governments of PNG and Australia.
Jacob said budgeting and savings were something new to the people.
He said some business ventures did not last because locals did not know about budgeting and saving.
He said anyone could be successful in business if they knew how to manage money.
“I thank those people who are rolling out this project in the country,” Jacob said.
