THE finest quality cocoa from the Autonomous Region of Bougainville will be showcased during the Bougainville Chocolate Festival on Sept 21 and 22.
The ABG public affairs, media and communication director Adriana Schmidt said the event would connect farmers to the international market.
The festival aims to “increase the international exposure of Bougainville’s fine quality cocoa.”
She said the event would also improve the quality and yield of Bougainville cocoa.
“The festival (also) encourages the next generation of cocoa farmers to plant cocoa,” she said.
“It’s also a fun festival with music, cocoa and chocolate-making films and entertainment. Last year’s gold medallist will be displaying or selling their chocolate.”
The highlight of the festival will be the chocolate-tasting competition where international judges assess the chocolate produced from the cocoa beans from farmers.
