THIRTY-EIGHT cadets from the Joint Forces Academy who underwent 18 months of a commissioning course had their final church parade on Sunday at Igam Barracks in Lae, Morobe.
Commanding officer and chief instructor Lt Col Donald Aisuk said the Joint Force Cadets (JFC) had gone through training modules such as leadership, tactics, management, physical training and administrative.
Aisuk said the course took them nearly two years to complete due to logistics and funding issues.
“The course itself is 18 months, but due to logistics and funding support, it had delays. The cadets have been here for more than 18 months.
“We’ve mitigated the challenges of logistics and funding from our social defence force partners like the Australian Defence Force and also from the Correctional Services and other key stakeholders,” said Aisuk.
He said that out of the 38 Joint Forces cadets that would graduate on Wednesday, 12 were from the Correctional Services and the rest from the PNG Defence Force.
