Call for justice agencies to align roles

LAW and justice sector agencies need to be aligned into an establishment that is working together to set its programmes for the future, says Minister for Justice and Attorney-General Davis Steven.
Steven, while addressing Public Solicitor’s Office policy manual launching last Thursday, told the gathering that a shift in their activities was necessary for transformation.
“I am talking about rethinking our activities and deciding our future focus,” he said.
“I challenge us all this evening on the occasion of this launch to be thinking change.
“That is the theme of the Law and Justice Sector Summit that will be convened in Lae next month.
Steven said Magisterial Services, police and Correctional Service needed to be aligned.
“That is my intention and National Executive Council will consider this submission in its next sitting,” he said.
“Political will to drive our sector is present.”
