Call to update common rolls

Letters

PRIME Minister James Marape and the National Executive Council should direct the Electoral Boundaries Commission to immediately identify more provincial and open electorate seats before the 2022 general election.
Regional and provincial electoral commission officers can work with the local level government (LLG) presidents, LLG council managers and ward councillors to update the common roll in preparation for 2022.
Each provinces and districts should to take charge of updating their respective common rolls then link-up with the Electoral Commission headquarters’ database to save costs.
This is the fastest and simplest method of updating our common rolls throughout the 89 districts and 22 provinces.
All LLG council managers, presidents, ward councillors and public servants are being paid by the State and these are part of their duties.
We should assist our three tier system of government to build PNG as a nation.

Samson C Napo,
Buang LLG
