Can Gene produce desired results?

Letters, Normal

I BELIEVE Adrian Lam quit as coach because he could not get along with certain team officials.
It is not because of his commitment to St George, who are in the finals this year.
Lam has contributed a lot as a player and as a national coach.
The result of his contribution is we are in the Four Nations.
He sacrificed his chances of wearing green and gold for Australia and played for his beloved PNG.
The appointment of Stanley Gene as national coach has not gone down well with some rugby league fans back home and overseas.
However, we will give him the benefit of doubt and see what he can produce at the Four Nations.
He may be a better player but is he a good coach?
Only time will tell.
If we want a local as coach, why not appoint Michael Marum?
He has been to Bob Bennett and Lam after he retired as a player and has won two premiership titles with Rabaul Gurias since he took over.
