Cancer clinic thanks sponsors and donors

THE Well Women’s Clinic at Angau Memorial Hospital in Lae, Morobe, is grateful to have received donations from companies and non-governmental organisations for women’s health.
InterOil was the major contributor, followed by Soroptomists International, other women’s groups in the city, NGOs and individuals.
The clinic was an initiative of the Papua New Guinea Cancer Relief Society and the hospital board and management purposely to promote early detection of breast and cervical cancer.
The clinical services provided included pap-smear examination, eye, mouth, and breast and blood pressure checks. It provides education and awareness on vital health issues specifically related to women and free confidential counselling.
All women are welcome to visit the clinic which resumes its normal service again after festive period.
Clinic days are from Monday to Friday at 8am-4pm while staff clinic is held on every Thursday 8am-12 noon.
