THE International Food Corporation (IFC) yesterday backed the Morobe Football Association (MFA) with K50,000 for this season.
This is the third time the company is supporting the association through its brand Besta since its establishment in 2017. “We will use this money to run our association,” president Pannu Shungai said.
“We have the Besta FA Cup coming up and MFA are the defending champions in the men’s division and runners-up in the women’s division so we have to participate in the tournament to defend our title.”
IFC senior sales and marketing manager Roslan Wahed said soccer was associated with Besta and supporting an association such as MFA would help continue development of soccer.
Wahed said their Besta products were produced by Papua New Guinea for the people of Papua New Guinea.
IFC chief operating officer Ahmad Faisal Hamdan said the company’s Besta mackerel and products were healthy food for the people of the country.
“We will continue to support the association and all the best this season,” Hamdan said.
