Capital Insurance Group (CIG) Ltd has established its branch office for New Guinea Islands region in Kokopo, East New Britain.
During the opening of the office on Monday night, general manager for Capital General Insurance Udu Vai, said, the Kokopo office branch was the first outside of Port Moresby and they looked forward to working with clients, organisations like hospitals and individuals in the province and the NGI region.
Vai said they would also try to encourage their clients, especially employers, to become members of CIG Ltd.
“Opening our office here in Kokopo is great and I am inviting companies, groups and individuals to see our staff at the office for information on CIG Ltd, what we do, our roles and functions,” said Vai.
Vai said apart from their core functions, they also provided support to organisations like hospitals as this was part of their community obligation.
Vai and his team also visited two hospitals in the province, Nonga in Rabaul and St Mary’s Vunapope in Kokopo.
General Manager for Capital Life Insurance Douglas English said the opening of the office provided an opportunity for them to look at medical service providers and increase awareness on health care insurance to help local families and communities.
English said CIG Ltd is a locally owned insurer with offices in four other markets within the Pacific region offering both general and life insurance products in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and the Kingdom of Tonga.
English urged employers to get medical insurance for their staff to help them with their medical expenses.
Meanwhile, Kokopo city manager Freddy Lemeki thanked CIG Ltd for establishing its branch in Kokopo.
Lemeki said many companies in ENB would want to get both life and medical insurance for their employees.
