Car dealer focusing on redefining new normal, readjusting daily ops

THE Covid-19 pandemic has affected employees, customers, communities and the greater automotive industry, according to car dealer Boroko Motors.
General manager David Lowe said the main focus for Boroko Motors in the last few months, was readjusting daily operations to focus on redefining the new normal and ensuring that the customer experience remained seamless.
Lowe, who has over 20 years working in the automotive industry globally and who has worked with brands such as Chrysler, Iveco Trucks, Volvo, Isuzu and Nissan, said Covid-19 and the state of emergency period had been challenging for many of their staff throughout the country.
“We have worked with all to ensure there is constant communication and awareness throughout the workforce providing regular updates and communication with cleanliness, good practices and support,” he said.
“While there has been some lead times extended by manufacturers for the first half of 2020, the automotive industry is recovering and it is anticipated that we will be returning back to normal lead times over the next few months.
“We have worked closely with all our suppliers to ensure we can still have a steady supply of vehicles and parts to service the PNG market.”
Meanwhile, Boroko Motors recently worked on a number of specialty Nissan Patrols for the PNG Police Constabulary, ensuring they were built per their requirements.
“During the pandemic, we have seen some challenges with certain vehicle parts and accessories over the last few months, however, as a business Boroko Motors is versatile and the team have managed to work closely with all suppliers to increase stock holdings to cover the potential shortfalls in production slow down.
“In an effort to continue serving its customers better and reaching a wider audience during these challenging times, Boroko Motors will be rolling out its new social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube in the last week of June.”
