Case on Kapris death adjourned

THE case of a police constable allegedly involved in the killing of wanted criminals William Kapris and Raphael Walimini in 2013, was adjourned to Aug 28 for further mention.
Waigani Committal Court Magistrate Tracy Ganaii didn’t hear bail matters on Friday, so prosecutor Sgt Joseph Sangam had it adjourned to next month.
Defendant and police Const Jeffery Kifoi was informed of his adjourned date by Sgt Sangam.
His National Court bail was extended to that date, with imposed conditions granted by Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika that he must report to the Boroko police station every Monday between 9am and 3pm, attend all court hearings at the committal court and, if committed to trial, he must attend all National Court hearing until his case was completed.
He should not interfere with state witnesses, maintain a good behaviour bond while on bail and should not interfere in suppressing the arrest of other police officers implicated in murder charges.
Kifoi, 31, of Watabung village in Daulo, Eastern Highlands, is facing two counts of wilful murder of Kapris and Walimini on July 22, 2013, between 6pm and 8pm at Camp 48, Gabadi, along the Hiritano Highway in Central. He was attached to the armed robbery unit.
