Cases adjourned for lawyers to get certificates

MOST court cases and hearings this week have been adjourned because lawyers have not obtained their 2022 practising certificates.
The certificates are issued for Jan 1-Dec 31, with evidence of appropriate professional indemnity cover for 2022.
Papua New Guinea Law Society president Allan Mana said the Society had issued to all lawyers a notice for the practising certificates for 2022 at the end of last year, with instructions on what to do to get their certificates.
Mana said the process required lawyers to fill out the application form and lodge it together with their professional indemnity insurance.
