Catholic priest ordained in Mt Hagen

MEMBERS of the Moge-Nambuka clan from Mt Hagen, Western Highlands came together to show their appreciation to a Catholic priest who was ordained yesterday at the new Holy Trinity Cathedral in Rebiamul.
The clan have given their land to the Catholic church to establish the church headquarters in the 1930s.
Since the establishment of the Catholic station, no one from the Nambuka clan had become a priest to serve the people.
But yesterday their wishes were fulfilled when Mt Hagen Archbishop Douglas Young ordained Shadrach Ketiga, from Gumas village, as a Catholic priest. Singsing and feasting were part of celebrations as people from the Nambuka clan from Palimp One and Palimp Two council wards made the event more special.
Catholics from Western Highlands and Jiwaka staged a weeklong crusade which ended with the ordination.
