People living with disabilities in Port Moresby are inviting their MPs to join them to observe Disabilities Day tomorrow at the Cheshire DisAbilities Centre in Hohola.

Spokesman Sauan Yamo Sulungu said the centre’s open day would see more than 60 people with disabilities and caregivers gather.

He said MPs for Moresby South, North-East, and North-West and Governor of NCD Powes Parkop should observe the day with them.

Sulunga said disabled people had extra needs such as transport, wheelchairs, physiotherapy, and other necessities that were not recognised.

“I have worked for the government for 30 years until a stroke left me wheelchair-bound in 2013. Til now, I have not had any help from the government.

“So I’m inviting these leaders to come and observe the day with us.”

Sulunga said he was pleased with Cheshire DisAbilities Services help, particularly its plan to expand to the Southern Highlands.
