THE PNG Rehabilitation Centre has received donations from the RH Hypermart in Port Moresby.

The shop donated food, clothing, shoes and toiletries to support the centre’s work in looking after people living with disabilities.

RH Hypermart human resource and administration manager Daneilla Tio said the company was grateful to support the work of the centre.

“Visiting marginalised and disadvantaged people is part of our commitment to reach out to the communities in the nation’s capital,” she said.

“Part of the donations come from the public. We have donation boxes placed in our stores that we collect from the public. Part of it comes from our shop.”

The company will donate items to the Baruni community and is urging other business houses in the city to support the unfortunate and disadvantaged people “living among us”.

Chairman Brown Kapi thanked RH Hypermart for supporting the centre.

A person living with disability, Edwin Michael, said “we have the potential and the capabilities, but people only see us from the outside and not from what is hidden in us”.
