THE Port Moresby Nature Park will provide free access to Pacific Games athletes and officials, general manager Michelle McGeorge says.

She said a discount on the entry fee would apply to other Games officials, such as the media, technical officials and guests.

McGeorge said there would be free bus services from the Games Village to the park.

The PNG Tourism Promotion Authority craft market is located at the park.

“Part of hosting the Games includes ensuring our visitors have the best experience,” McGeorge.

“The park is located right next to the Games Village so it is perfect for us to showcase our animals, plants and diverse culture.”

The park is a tourism partner for the Games.

She said the Games committee and the tourism authority were ensuring that athletes’ needs were met.

Authority policy and planning director Alcinda Trawen said the Games would promote the tourism industry.

Trawen said the craft market at the park would provide athletes souvenirs and gifts. It will be opened from 9am to 3pm.
