CEO welcomes NEC probe
The National, Tuesday 4th June 2013
SUSPENDED Coffee Industry Corporation (CIC) chief executive officer, Navi Anis, has welcomed his suspension by the national executive council as well as allegations of impropriety.
“I accept the decision,” he told The National from Goroka last Thursday.
“I have vacated the office upon receipt of the formal documents, and I’m waiting for the investigation and other processes to take their course.
“I have not stolen any coffee growers’ money or CIC money – that is for the investigation to confirm.
“I’m ready to answer any questions.
“On every single allegation of financial impropriety, I can go cheque-by-cheque and defend myself.”
Anis was suspended, effective May 1, 2013, following allegations of poor governance and accountability, and misconduct in office.
