THE PNG Chamber of Commerce and Industry hopes that business houses and residents will get value for their money with the entry of the third mobile operator – Digitec-Vodafone.
Chamber president Ian Tarutia told The National that the mobile company would provide a choice for customers and hopefully at competitive prices.
Tarutia said consumers would be looking for reliability and consistency of services and strong connectivity.
“Business welcomes the introduction of another mobile phone operator into PNG. It provides choice for consumers and hopefully at competitive prices,” he told The National.
“Importantly, reliability, consistency of services and strong connectivity is what consumers will be looking forward to.
“Vodafone is a well-known global brand.
“Its entry into PNG, I’m sure will be well received by all.
“Competition is healthy as it brings out the best in all service providers in the same business.
“I am sure Telikom and Digicel, our existing mobile phone providers, have known about this and have planned accordingly.
“At the end of the day, we hope business houses and residents will receive value for money.”
