Chamber welcomes initiative

 THE Sandaun Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed the initiative to encourage small and medium enterprises (SME) in the province.

Chamber president Boni Leki said the SME sector was vital in driving the economy and its growth depended on  stakeholders. 

A delegation from the Sandaun provincial government accompanied by local SME operators was in Jayapura to attend the Indonesia Trade Expo. 

“The whole idea was to expose them to the business world and to allow them to see the different commodities on show,” he said. 

“This allowed the operators to engage with businessmen and women in Indonesia. 

“It was to encourage SME operators to expand their business.”
