Change will happen over time

 I AM of the view that changes in a person’s life does not merely come from outward factors, but much more from within and it only happens over time, not overnight. Thus, placing the historical bible in the parliament will not bring any change. However, it will implant its sacred words into the hearts of the parliamentarians, guiding their minds and hearts. It is clearly stated in the book of Ezekiel, “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh” (11:19). It is not about removing graven images and replacing bibles in the national house of assembly, but about removing selfish interests and placing the bible in the hands of our leaders, imparting sacred words of scriptures that will bring change. Otherwise, the tremendous effort of the Speaker will be just another joke in the history pages of PNG.
