Check connection

Letters

THIS letter is addressed to the Minister for Public Enterprise and State Investments Sasindran Muthuvel and the acting managing director of PNG Power Douglas Mageo.
As a regular PNG Power customer operating from a small SME store at North Goroka, EHP, I have conducted business there for a very long time.
I have a concern with a certain trade store operating near the University of Goroka bus stop – that has been allegedly receiving power illegally.
We have reason to believe that this trade store has allegedly tampered with the easypay meter box and has been illegally receiving power.
It is also alleged that the store has no trading licence.
This is not fair to some of us who are legal SME store operators.
We pay taxes and PNG Power bills regularly during this hard time when the economy is struggling.
It does not sit well with us SME operators when others are taking short-cuts by escaping the system through illegal means to do their business.
Is PNG Power’s Goroka branch aware of all this alleged illegal connections?
This practice could be happening elsewhere too in Goroka.
Investigate this.

Take Back PNG,
Gahaku, SME operator
