Check Post PNG services

Letters

I AM a regular customer of Post PNG Mt Hagen and a longtime resident in Mt Hagen.
Sometime in 2019, I used the postal service to send some items after weighing them.
I realised that Post PNG charged K5 for an A4 envelope containing a single or two-page letter.
If I send four letters, that is K20.
When I asked for a receipt, the response was that the receipting machine was down.
They couldn’t issue a manual receipt either.
That was in 2019.
I got the same response on several occasions last year.
Last year, a mail I sent was not delivered.
When I followed up on the non-delivery, there was no receipt to verify the date and other details.
I raised a complaint at the office and I left dissatisfied.
I had to redo the letter and send it through a friend who travelled that week to Port Moresby.
After more than two years, I was faced with the same issue yesterday morning.
Is it a deliberate scheme to divert postal services funds, or is it poor management?
I’m not sure if the same issue happens in other post offices around the country.
Appropriate authorities should take action.

Disgruntled Customer,
