THE 28th Bodybuilding Championships will see 10 centres around the country compete for the title of Mr PNG at the Kundiawa Lutheran High School in Chimbu this weekend.
The province has sponsored the tournament with K70,000.
The National Capital District Bodybuilding Association will provide one of the biggest contingents at the championships and they are ready flex their muscles, says president Canny Cooper.
Cooper, who is also part of the organising committee for the championships, thanked Chimbu for the sponsorship.
“We have no sponsor. But like most of the provinces, we had to raise funds to travel to Chimbu,” he said.
“We’re grateful to Chimbu Governor Michael Dua for stepping in as the major sponsor of the tournament.
“We will use what has been allocated to us to help sort out our accommodation, transport, venues for participants and judges over the weekend.”
Meanwhile, Cooper said 13 NCD bodybuilders would be travelling to Chimbu.
Cooper thanked the High Performance Centre for allowing potential talent to take up bodybuilding.
