Choose PM from different region

WISDOM supersedes knowledge as the philosophers say and politics in PNG is fluid: anything can happen in PNG because it is the land of the unexpected.
We admire the words of wisdom from Sir Julius Chan.
He is one of our founding fathers and ‘the last man standing’ in PNG politics.
Many of our leaders today lack this rare and special attribute only possessed by a few politicians.
As clearly depicted in the Bible, “for many are called but few are chosen”.
This saying is deeply rooted in clear commonsense and rational thinking which should guide our parliamentarians as they begin their horse-trading during the days leading up to Dec 14.
The Opposition has its prime ministerial candidates or nominees ready and from observation, potential candidates are Opposition Leader and Vanimo-Green MP Belden Namah, Bulolo MP Sam Basil, Aitape-Lumi MP Patrick Pruaitch and Madang Governor Peter Yama.
The mentioned MPs are experienced prime minister candidates and have contributed immensely to developing our nation.
We cannot draw a blanket conclusion and rule them out but we select them on the basis of merit and experience.
Experience is the best teacher.
There are many factors in appointing a prime ministerial candidate.
The common factors are knowledge, money and experience.
With those attributes, the willingness to accept sound advice, counsel and guidance from elders is paramount.
Although some of their advice would not be acceptable, that does not mean we don’t pay attention to them.
One should note that the election prime minister since independence has been unfair.
Most prime ministers have been from the same region that’s why it’s time we have the top office occupied by someone from a different region.
