Christmas is not Easter

Letters

MANY people still confuse Christmas day with Easter, and see it as a norm to celebrate Christmas with alcohol and clubbing.
Have you forgotten the meaning of Christmas? Let me explain the difference: Christmas is a time to commemorate the birth of Christ.
It is a time to jog your memory of how you have lived your life.
Have you been good or have you been naughty?
Most importantly, it is a moment in time where you gather with your family and reflect the birth of Jesus Christ, and be grateful that the Son of God was born.
Now, Easter is a time to remember the death of Christ, because of our wrong doings.
He had to die on the cross for our sins (can you imagine that?).
It is a time to gather with family and repent. Ask Him to forgive your sins, make a difference and be a changed person.
In life, there is always a hello and a goodbye. A baby is born, granny passes away, it is like a cycle where we say hello to this world and farewell this world.
People think that Christmas is a time to drink alcohol with friends and enjoy the things of this world because that is the only period of time they are free to do anything.
In Biblical terms, it is like killing Jesus and putting him on the cross again because we have sinned.
We are supposed to celebrate his birth, not crucify him during Christmas time.
It clearly tells us that even the smartest guy on this earth is the dumbest guy ever.
People know but do not exactly know what Christmas is.
How can you farewell Jesus Christ on both Easter and Christmas? You cannot say goodbye to a baby who just entered this world and then say goodbye again when he/she dies.
And so Christmas is around the corner, make a difference and do not let Christmas down.
Celebrate in the right way by appreciating the birth of Jesus Christ.
Bless those who are unfortunate to have something this Christmas.
Participate in church activities during the Christmas period.
Most importantly, celebrate and welcome Jesus Christ into your life this Christmas.
