Church, Hunters need Garry Lo

Letters

PLEASE allow me to express my sentiment to PNG Hunters coach Matthew Church as well as the PNG NRL management.
In the Australian NRL, clubs select the best players to play simply to win. A win is what each team expects each weekend.
A team’s win gives confidence to those stakeholders involved in the club such as sponsors and supporters and makes them proud.
Similarly, the Hunters, who now play in QLD Intrust Cup, the second highest tier in the NRL, have won one grand final.
Kudos to the players and PNGRL management and supporters.
Last year, Church took over from Michael Marum and he has done extremely as his first season coach.
He has since been reappointed.
Now, with some experienced players retiring from football, having suspended Norman Brown and Brendon Gutono, there is an urgent need for Church to consider their substitutes to ensure the Hunters have a successful season in 2022.
It is imperative for Church to consider getting Gary Lo into the team because Lo is one of the best and experienced wingers.
He performed extremely well as a Kumul over the years, performed above expectation in the UK and if Church doesn’t know who Lo is, he was previously the Intrust Cup’s leading try scorer.
I see no reason why Church would not select Lo.
PNG Hunters want to win the cup, hence, PNGRFL management must also step in to ensure Lo is selected because he is a valuable asset.
His potential must not be overlooked if the Hunters want to win next year’s QLD Cup.
Every Intrust Cup team in QLD fields their NRL players, so why not get Lo into Hunters?
Garry Lo is currently attached with the Mt Hagen Eagles and while he keeps expressing his availability, the fans see no reason why he should not be selected.
