FLEXIBLE Open and Distance Education (Fode) students came in numbers on Monday to collect their learning material at the Port Moresby centre.
Fode principal Anthony Rayappan told The National that he had witnessed an increase in the number of students enrolled this year.
He said more students had shown an interest because of the Government’s fee free policy.
“Now we are serving the students who have already enrolled,” he said.
“Students are collecting learning materials.
“Today, the grade 11 and grade 12 students were scheduled to collect their materials and tutorials will begin in two weeks time.”
Rayappan said students with disabilities who showed interest were also enrolled at Fode this year.
“The institution was including everyone as long as the students showed interest to continue their education,” he said.
He said Fode was working with the Government to make sure that no child was left behind.
