THERE has been a growing concern over the movement of players between the two soccer associations in National Capital District, the Port Moresby Soccer Association and the NCD Public Servants Soccer Association.

It was noted that some players were registered in both associations, which currently was running parallel to each other, at Bisini Soccer Ground and the PNGIPA Oval at Waigani respectively.

Interim chairman of NCD Public Servants Soccer Association Vonnie Kapi Natto said those players caught moving between the two associations would be expelled from her association with no uncertain terms.

She noted that Toru Simoi, who was a registered player with Simla club in NCDPSSA, has now joined Maclaren in the Super League competition in Port Moresby Soccer Association.

Kapi Natto said until such time they introduce the ID system, players would have to stick with one association rather than moving between them.

Secretary general of Port Moresby Soccer Association John Mogi also expressed similar sentiment over the movement of players.

“There is the general by-laws which restricts the movement of players from association to another association, unless they have to get clearance from another association to play for another association,” he said.

“However, there is no way, a player can play for two associations on one-weekend.

“As of next week, all clubs will have to provide ID cards for their players to have access to the field and onto the team sheet on match days.

Mogi said there has been several players moving from association to association every weekend, and his PMSA will not tolerate such childish behavior.

POMSA would work closely with its sister association in the city to clamp down on these illegal movements of players.
