THE Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation has given approval for Port Moresby Suburban Rugby League to kick off its activities at the Kone Tigers Oval next Thursday. This was confirmed by acting league president James Paul yesterday. Paul was appointed in the interim as incumbent Bosky Koke had tendered his resignation due to work commitments in another province. He said the 2021 calendar would begin with a pre-season nines tournament, sponsored by Southern Cross Assurance, with all 17 clubs advised to pay K300 each to compete in the event. Southern Cross Assurance has pledged K20,000 for the tournament. Paul said the deadline was set for next Wednesday. For more details, contact Paul on 71 226 249 or treasurer Thomas Mote on 76 914 971.
