CJ among 14 Logohu recipients

GOVERNOR-GENERAL Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae presented the Independence Anniversary (Logohu) awards to 14 recipients at Government House in Port Moresby on Thursday.
Among them was Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika.
Sir Gibbs was awarded the Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu with the title “Chief” for service to community and the judiciary as the longest serving judge of the National and Supreme Courts, and as Deputy Chief Justice before assuming the office of the Chief Justice in 2018, and for his significant contribution to legal education and judiciary training.
The late Sir Theophilus George Constantinou was awarded, posthumously, the Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu (GCL), with the title of “Chief”.
He was awarded for his service and contribution to maintaining a world class hotel and apartments in the hotel industry in Papua New Guinea and his support to sports, especially in rugby union, for many years.
His brother, Sir Kostas Constantinou, received the award on behalf of the late Sir Theophilus.
Another recipient of the GCL award, with the title of “Chief” was Jacob Luke.
He was recognised for his service to the local communities in the Highlands and Morobe, in terms of community services, church, health services, education services and facilities.
Shankar Ghoshal was awarded the Companion of the Order of the Star of Melanesia for service to the hotel industry in developing new styles, attractive and luxury hotel.
