The new grade 8 double-classroom near completion.

A CLASSROOM building project at a primary school in Morobe that had been incomplete since 2018, is finally near completion for use next year.
The double-classroom for grade 8 at Wawin Primary School in Wampar, Huon Gulf, could not be used after the contractor stopped work on it three years ago due to funding constraints.
The local contractor had been engaged at the cost of K30,000 but pulled out before completing the building citing a lack of funding.

Head teacher Hubert Rembo said the school had 230 students, nine teachers and had only one permanent building while the rest of the school’s infrastructure consisted of semi-permanent and kunai-thatched buildings.
Rembo acknowledged Huon Gulf MP Ross Seymour, the district development authority and the administration for supporting the classroom project.
