THE Department of Justice and Attorney General (DJAG) is committed to educating young people to ensure a secure and safer society, Justice Minister Bryan Kramer says.
He said the department was investing in young workers to improve the law and justice sector so that citizens could feel safe and secure in the community.
Kramer said the sector was a difficult and complex area to manage, hence, the need for human resource investment and manpower improvements.
“We have been investing in the sector for future (generations) because the country will fall if we step away from the law and justice sector,” he said.
He spoke at the launching of the Attorney-General’s Law Journal Volume 2 and the Constitution of Papua New Guinea handbook in Port Moresby yesterday.
“I am privilege to launch the second edition of the Attorney-General’s Law Journal together with the Constitution of Papua New Guinea by Dr Eric Kwa and Prof Edward Wolfers,” Kramer said.
He said the publication for the journals would be an annual publication where Government lawyers and law practitioners could publish on developing trends in the law.
He dedicated the journal to government lawyers who upheld the rule of law and the Constitution.
Meanwhile, Kwa said the journal would help young lawyers, the public and disciplined forces such as the police and Correctional Services.
