CENTRAL health authority (CPHA) chief executive officer Dr James Amini says some small health facilities in the province still have no stock of some medical drugs. Amini said it was an administrative issue that all smaller health facilities needed to improve on and an area that the PHAs also wanted to see get better.
“We kept reminding our health officers in the respective smaller health facilities to place their orders well before the stock ran out,” he said.
Amini also said the CPHA understood that the country had entered the election period and there was a great need for all medical facilities in the province to stock up on drugs and emergency supplies.
He, however, clarified that the hiccups had always been an administrative matter that they were working on. Amini said it took a long time to purchase medical drugs at the main Area Medical Store at Badili so usually they just visited their bigger medical facilities nearby for new stock.
