CONSTITUTIONAL and Law Reform Commission (CLRC) has launched an information and communication technology (ICT) policy and a website to deliver effective service, its chairman and Wewak MP Kevin Isifu says.
Isifu said CLRC finally had an ICT policy and an official website after it was established about 15 years ago.
“ICT is inevitable in the world today and has changed everything, from private business transactions to the way Government organisations conduct their business,” he said.
Isifu said CLRC needed to move from manual to digital for information to be stored, secured and available and accessible in real-time to the public.
He thanked secretary Dr Mange Matui and his management for the vision and efforts to set up the policy and website and described the achievement as “CLRC’s coming of age”.
“It will provide an interface for our work with our stakeholders, Government and international partners to review and reform our laws, given the changing nature of our society,” he said.
“These advances in technology provides a platform for an effective and efficient delivery of results in minimal time and effort.”
