DSIGRUNTLED Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup (CCIC) finalists Krims Brothers of Chimbu want reimbursement of all their costs incurred in what they describe as gross negligence by the organisers.
They intend to get a court injunction to stop further cup matches being played in Wapenamanda, Enga, until their concerns are addressed.
Krims Brothers executive manager Michael Temai said they had wasted their time and money in a nationwide competition that he described as “being manipulated by officials”.
Temai said despite being confirmed to attend, the second-placed team Sineyongo Brothers was included in the draw when they arrived in Wapenamanda.
“That clearly showed that our team was already marginalised, an indication by CCIC officials that we were not recognised,” he said.
“The champion teams of Chimbu are the TNA Angras and Krims Brothers.
“But they still allowed three teams to participate to satisfy one more interest,” Temai said.
“It appeared that the games at Wepanamanda were heavily dictated and manipulated by interested parties and officials. Even our unscheduled matches were not on the official draw.”
Temai said because of that unfair treatment they had decided to take this action.
“We want to set a precedent so that future CCIC games are not manipulated by officials.”
