 THE PNG coffee industry is expected to be widely publicised to the world with the visit of an international coffee journalist next week.

Maja Wallengran will arrive next Wednesday to do an exclusive coverage of the PNG coffee industry which will be published in some of the international coffee publications. 

From her email correspondences with staff of the Coffee Industry Corporation, Wallengran said she had secured space for at least three articles to be published in the Global Coffee Review which she contributed to.

Wallengren is a global coffee reporter and independent analyst. She has written about all aspects of coffee for 20 years through first-hand reporting and research in over 40 coffee producing countries across Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Born and educated in Denmark, she is fluent in six languages and is based in Mexico City. 

She is currently working on a number of book projects.

During her trip to PNG she will gather material for her second book in which an entire chapter will be dedicated to the history of coffee in Papua New Guinea.

She wouldattend the Melbourne International Coffee Expo in Australia this weekend and then travel to PNG.

The Coffee Industry Corporation is inviting local coffee companies and other stakeholders to attend and audience with her next Friday at the corporation’s head office in Goroka.
