College wants 75 per cent of fees paid up-front

NEW and continuing students at the Kokopo Business College in East New Britain have been advised to pay 75 per cent of their total course fees.
College administrator Ben Koyo said this yesterday in Kokopo.
He said this was necessary to ensure the college had adequate funds to operate.
Koyo said the fees for diploma programmes for students under the higher education contribution assistance scheme (Hecas) boarding was K3,913.50 for a semester while the yearly fee was K5,038.20 and K3,778.65 was the 75 per cent upfront payment.
For the Hecas day students fees is K2,478 for the year and K1,625.40 is the 75 per cent upfront fee.
Fees for self-sponsored students in diploma programmes are K3,913.50 for boarding students (semester) and K7,827 (yearly) and the expected 75 per cent upfront fee is K5,870.25.
Self-sponsored day students fees are K2,478 (semester) K4,956 and K3,717 is the 75 per cent fees.
Koyo said for the national certificate programme fees for self-sponsored boarding students is K3, 913.50 (semester), K7, 827 (yearly) and K5, 870.25 is 75 per cent upfront fees, self-sponsored for day students was K2,478 (semester), K4,956 (yearly) and K3, 717 75 –per cent fees while for the foundation was only for day students and the fee was K1,778 (semester).
Koyo says that upfront fees of 75 per cent must be paid before enrolment.
He said the fees must be paid into the college’s bank account number: 2907336201, Westpac Bank, Kokopo branch or Bank South Pacific (BSP) project account number: 7000947908 (Kokopo branch) as cash payments would not be accepted.
Koyo said receipts should be presented on the registration day.
Jan 25 is the expected teachers’ resumption date while students resume on Feb 1.
