Power house
This house at one of the more populated suburbs of Port Moresby was built – for some reason – around a power pole. PNG Power may have an explanation as to why this happened. Looks odd.
More secrets
We wait with bated breath for the resumption soon of the inquiry into the health department instituted by Sir John’s public accounts committee – plus the other state institutions on the list.
Bus bays
Buses block the left lane of highways in Port Moresby when they pick up or drop off passengers at designated bus stops. The city planner should have thought about building bays at the bus stops when the shelters are. It is not too hard to figure that out.
Wrong timing
Irate tenant on the first floor was in the middle of his shower when the water went off. He swore at the top of his voice. He was later told that supply to the building had to be closed to allow repairs to a leaked pipe in the flat downstairs. Wrong timing.
Too much smoke
The Australian Open tennis scheduled for this week across the ditch is likely to be called off because of the heavy smoke from the bushfires in Melbourne. Heavy rain fell there last night however.
Thought for today
The happiest people don’t have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything they have.

Maybe if we underpaid politicians and overpaid teachers, there would be smarter people and less sh…y laws – Morgan Freeman (actor).
