No sound
Colleague has discovered that the best way to really enjoy watching an NRL game on TV is to turn off the sound. Those commentators are the biggest distraction, pretending to be experts in everything.
Silent protest
You may have noticed players from a certain Pacific island nation playing in various NRL teams have all dyed their hair sort of blondish. Could be a silent protest on something.
Live games
It is so good to see fans of both rugby codes back enjoying live matches. So good to look forward to the weekends again.
No money
So those laid off work in March and waiting to withdraw part of their retirement savings from the superfunds will have to wait a little longer. Parliament will now discuss the bill in September. Six long months of waiting.
Buai ban
City Hall has had enough – again. It will fine those selling buai in the capital city of up to K10,000. That’s serious.
Coalition stronger
The Pangu Pati-led government now has in its stable the United Labour Party, United Resources Party, National Alliance Party, Social Democratic Party, Our Development Party, Country Party and People’s Party.
Thought for today
Maturity is learning to walk from people and situations that threaten your peace of mind, values, self-respect, morals or self-worth.
