Chooks forecast
Rugby immortal Andrew Johns predicts that the Sydney Roosters will tumble out of the NRL top four in 2021. Roosters’ fans hope he is crowing up the wrong tree.
Pie in sky
The city fathers who have promised but yet to deliver a reliable, clean, well-managed and efficient bus service are now talking about a sky rail project. One at a time, please.
Jobless queue
From a reader: More graduates coming out of tertiary institutions with no guarantee of a job. All the hard work and sacrifice end in nought for some. Alas.
Nice try
One man was drawing a crowd with his loud “miracle wara” display (almost outside the police station) at Boroko on Saturday. He seems like a smart salesman although not too many bought the stuff he was selling. Well, at least he was trying.
Crocodile tears
When one dies, people including relatives and friends surround the casket wailing and pleading for one to come back. But when one was here, no one bothers or cases.
Empty stop
The Boroko business centre in Port Moresby used to be eagerly served by Route Nine bus drivers every day – until recently. The normally crowded bus stop near the market looks deserted. Something fishy going on.
Thought for today
Truth is straight, plain, clear, and stands out boldly in its own defense. But it is not so with error, which is so winding and twisting that it needs a multitude of words to explain it in its crooked form.
