Too many greats
To many former rugby league players are being called “great” nowadays. Maybe safer to confine that brand to only the “immortals”, what say?
SOO Two
Someone summed up the preparations for the State of Origin Game Two in Perth thus: “The Blues preparation has sparked a fear that the squad could be ‘flat’ going into Game II, while Slater’s Maroons are sitting pretty, ready to board ‘Air Billy’.” Well, we’ll see.
Spike in sales
If there is a business noticing a spike in sales this week, it has to be the bootlegger’s. They have been gearing up for it since the two-week liquor ban was announced recently.

City Hall was understandably disappointed after the 2017 general election when candidates failed to remove the election posters they posted on lamp posts and trees around the city, when polling ended. Now the posters are there again all around the city. City Hall may have given them permission to do so.
Food for thought
Problems are like washing machines. They twist, spin and knock you around. But in the end you come out cleaner, brighter and better than before.
Top quote
“They were very good (in SOO One), Queensland. I thought they were outstanding. Maybe they’ve taught us a lesson and we’re going to combat that. We’ll have some smaller men around there and see if we can generate some speed.” – NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler.
