HIGHLANDS Eastern End commanders from Western Highlands, Jiwaka and Chimbu will be asked to present their action plans from next week to help them achieve their goals and targets.
Deputy Assis Comm (ACP) Eastern End Joseph Tondop said this would be his task as the new person in the post.
Deputy ACP Tondop said he would be helping ACP Nema Mondia (Eastern End) to do this next week, because that was a command they had to follow.
He said PPCs should have an action plan that would guide them to work to achieve their goals and targets.
Deputy ACP Tondop said he would also visit the rural police station for inspection.
“Right now we do not know what we are doing and this is what we will be doing because we have to take our office back to the people,” he said.
“In most cases people take police as their enemy but this is not the right way to do that, we have to make the force become friendly.”
He said there were also areas which he would be looking at including station standing orders, investigations and restoring public confidence.
In Western Highlands, he would be looking at the ongoing Gumanch tribal fight in the Dei electorate.
“This fight could have been dealt with long time ago but nothing was done, so we will be using the leadership at all levels to deal with it,” Deputy ACP Tondop said.
He said he would be discussing with PPC Jacob Kamiak to go into details of the fight.
