CAR dealer Ela Motors donated 100 desks and 200 chairs worth K25,000 to the St Therese Primary School in Port Moresby yesterday.
Chief executive Keiichiro Kuwabara said Ela Motors remained committed to helping communities in PNG.
“I am very happy that you can use it to, that is how we want to contribute to the society, and I hope you can enjoy learning with these chairs and desks,” he said.
Ela Motors general manager finance Eymard Joseph said under its community social responsibility programme, it looked at supporting communities where it could reach.
“Some of you will no longer sit on the floor, I hope you will school well and become future leaders,” he told the students.
“I would like to also call upon other corporate companies to help look into the communities and assist.”
School principal Christine Tsuga thanked Ela Motors for the kind donation.
She said the school had 1,277 students with 28 teachers and additional staff.
She said students sat on the floor in most classrooms.
“It is very timely donation, it is really a great relief for my teachers and students.”
