Commerce Dept funds queried

Letters

AN insider has recommended an urgent audit of public funds under the Department of Commerce and Industry that were used for unintended purposes within October to December 2017.
For good governance, transparency and accountability, the Office of Auditor General needs to conduct a forensic audit on the use of those funds listed: some K900, 000 belong to Koari landowners; K 900,000 belong to Pacific Marine Industrial Zone Project; and several millions of kina for the Sepik Special Economic Zone Project among others.
There was no activity on site at PMIZ in Madang in 2017, and yet, K900, 000 disappeared into thin air.
The list goes on.
This is just the tip of the iceberg as to why certain leaders have been barking in the media to cover their trails.
The people of PNG and the tax payers are no longer stupid and demand accountability.
